Dr. Amrita obtained her medical degree from India and moved to United States to be with her family and pursue further studies. She recognized her call to be a pediatrician during her high school years, noting the positive influence her pediatrician had on her own personal growth. After coming to the United States, she completed her pediatrics residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (UMDNJ – Newark) while also being trained at The Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. She was awarded the ‘best clinic resident’ during her final year of residency. She places special emphasis on the ‘parents-doctor communication’. She recognizes that promotion of healthy habits and behavior early on in children has positive influence on their overall health and well-being throughout childhood, adolescence and into the adult lives. Being a mother of a young child herself, she understands the value of ‘Individualized patient care’ and brings the same philosophy to her work. She loves working with children of all ages and encourages them for adopting healthy lifestyles. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
