Dr. Kakar, a board-certified pediatrician and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), joins My Whole Child Pediatrics after working at Stanford University School of Medicine for 4 years. She was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program (Primary Care), and Lactation Clinic Lead at Stanford University's Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Kakar established a breastfeeding medicine clinic and led efforts to align hospital- and community-based lactation support initiatives. She also serves as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Early Career Physicians Liaison to the Section on Breastfeeding.
Dr.Kakar earned her dual degree BA with Honors in Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Rutgers University, followed by an MD with Distinction in Service to the Community at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her Pediatric Residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital/Drexel University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Kakar is fluent in Hindi and Spanish.
